The First Initiative

Over 2000 years ago, Jesus gave His followers one mission: make disciples among all the nations for the glory of His name. That mission exists as a sort of "true north" for followers of Jesus, guiding all we seek to be and do as His people.
In 1949, that mission gave birth to a new fellowship of believers in Merritt Island: First Baptist Church. for nearly 70 years, we have lived in this community as part of Christ's great mission among the nations. The sacrifice and service of those who have gone before us have allowed us to enjoy tremendous blessings today. We have resources that are unique within this community. Our campus sits at the heart of Merritt Island. Our ministries reach a diversity of people groups. Even more, the individuals who are First Baptist are incredibly gifted by God and represent the greatest resource we have as a church family: Holy Spirit-empowered people.
We are entering the last year of this Stewardship of Life emphasis we have called The First Initiative. The First Initiative was designed to focus and mobilize each man, woman and child of First Baptist for the mission of reaching every man, woman and child of this community. Focused mobilization includes three areas of emphasis: Serving, Sharing and Giving.
Pastor Titus will begin a three week sermon series exploring the heart of the First Initiative, which is God's glory revealed as we serve humbly, sharing faithfully and give gladly. It all begins November 3.
