STEP INTO SHARING

Serving, Sharing and Giving capture the heartbeat of the First Initiative through which we seek to reach every man, woman and child with the Gospel where they live, work, learn and play. The Lord recently opened wide doors of opportunity for both Serving and Sharing in our community. He has allowed our church to have an unprecedented Gospel impact in our community by graciously opening doors of opportunity in six areas:

• Foster Care
• Teens and Public Schools  
• Working with Special Needs children  
• Serving the Deaf Community  
• Ministering to senior adults in medical and senior care facilities  
• Serving the students and faculty of Mila Elementary School  

We invited people in our congregation to prayerfully consider becoming involved in learning more about serving in these six areas by attending a vision casting meeting on September 9th in the Chapel. This event featured breakout sessions that introduced people to serving opportunities in the six different areas of service. The response was incredible! Here’s a letter from Pastor Titus to those who showed up on the 9th in which he celebrated what God was doing to open doors of opportunity. In his letter, he also gave a way forward for people to take their next steps into serving. It’s not too late to become involved in Serving and Sharing through Step into Serving.  

We were blown away by the number of people who attended the “Step Into Serving” meeting last Sunday night! There were over 250 people who responded to the invitation to step into our community to demonstrate the gospel through loving acts of service. In case you were not able to attend the vision casting night, we have included information and/or attachments for each Step Into Serving opportunity. 
 
Last Sunday night’s vision casting was designed to give you the opportunity to attend as many of the "Step Into Serving" breakout sessions as possible so you could discover a primary area of passion. What is your next step? Come Sunday, September 30th  to the Atrium building at 5:30 pm and meet with the leaders of your "Step Into Serving" ministry area of focus. This evening will begin giving you the way forward into ministry involvement including vision, equipping, prayer, and community. Some "Step Into Serving" ministry areas will use the Sunday night time-frame for further equipping over the course of the following six weeks. Over the course of these weeks, thank the Lord for the ground He is preparing, seeds He is planting, and the harvest He will be gathering. God is at work and it is our joy to join Him!

GIVING UPDATE

The total amount pledged towards the construction portion of the First Initiative is $2,299,883. As of September 20th, $1,150,324 has been given ... 39.5% of the total 3-year commitment!

CONSTRUCTION UPDATE

• Demolition of the old office space is progressing!
• The final permit for the office renovation portion of the project has been received.
• Initial application for permitting of the building addition has been started.
