FAQs for Guests

Who is invited to be a guest at Night to Shine?

Any person with a physical, cognitive, or developmental disability who is age 14 and up.

How much does it cost for a guest to attend Night to Shine?

Night to Shine is free for all guests!

Is there a cut-off date for guest registration?

There is no cutoff for registration. However, since we can only register the first 100 guests, there is now a guest waitlist. To see if there’s another host church closer to you, click HERE and scroll to the middle of the page.

What is the dress code of the event?

We encourage all guests and volunteers to dress up to their desired level of formality! Have fun dressing up or be comfortable, you decide!

Can a guest have their own “Buddy” for the night?

Honored Guests are assigned a "Buddy" at check-in on the night of the dance. If you are bringing your own "Buddy" to attend the dance with you, they must register as Night to Shine Volunteer (this includes parents/caregivers). They will need to fill out our Volunteer form, select BUDDY TEAM, and put their name in the comment box.

I am a parent of a guest at Night to Shine. What are my options?

We offer a Respite Room for parents/caregivers upstairs above the dance floor where parents/caregivers have two options. After checking in the Honored Guest, you leave and return at 9 PM or you can enjoy our Respite Room upstairs with a great dinner (FREE) and fellowship while remaining onsite during the event. We do ask that you remain upstairs for the entire event since we are required to have background checks on everyone downstairs in contact with our Honored Guests.

FAQs for Volunteers

I will not be able to volunteer in person this year, is there another way to help?

We understand that many people are unable to participate in person this year but may still want to contribute to Night to Shine. Please consider participating by offering to sponsor a guest this year for $20. Sponsoring a guest will cover the cost of their Night to Shine Experience Gift Kit which includes a crown/tiara, corsage/boutonniere, and gifts. Thank you for your continued celebration of these deserving guests.
